Writing seems to have become an evening habit. I thought it wouldn't be like this...
Today I thought I'd spin on cosy moments and how important they are. With three kids in the family, it's hard to find time to spend with just one child at a time, but we try to make it happen as often as possible. Tonight, our son opted out of an activity because he just wanted to sit on the dock and dangle with his legs. I thought it sounded great and we went down to the dock. Realized we hadn't been there together since the quickly passing swimming season.
As we sat there, it was again a cosy chat. It's like using a different part of the brain, the part that just is. At first it was just nice to sit down and watch the water, but after a while we both notice the little fish playing and jumping just below our legs. They are also jumping around further out in Lake Mälaren and the water is sort of glistening in different places. Studying these little fish in detail was so cosy and so relaxing. To just stop and switch off for a while. That's what a meditation can look like! It's not just about sitting with your back stretched out on a yoga mat and trying to focus on your breathing. It's about something much bigger. It's about a connection with something so much bigger than yourself.

Thought of the day:
What happens inside you when you let go off the everyday demands for a while? How do you make it happen?
